England manager Fabio Capello told Football News that he plans un unveil a new formation that will win him "everything possible".
The proposed idea is that he will play a 1-2-7 formation. One defender, two midfielders and seven forwards. Which is bad news for many of England's defenders fighting for that one place and the midfielder's all struggling for the two available places, but it will however be good news for many of England's players such as Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch who have struggled to be first choice strikers.
"It is a fantastic idea. Sure, the opposition may score many times because we have one defender but we will bombard their defence with our seven strikers." Capello said.
He had previously tried a 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 formation in a training match against England U-21's at their training ground which the senior team ultimately lost 32-1, the one goal coming ironically from goalkeeper David James.
