Sami Hyypia hopeful for Ryder Cup call-up.

Liverpool defender Sami Hyypia has admitted he faces an uncertain future at Anfield after being left out of the club's 25-man Champions League squad.

He is however, hopeful of a call up to the European Team for the 2008 Ryder Cup in Louisville, Kentucky which takes place on September 19th-21st. He has admitted he has never played golf before in his life but is certain non-playing captain Nick Faldo will give him the call up.

The 34-year old Finn said "Yes, I am shocked Rafa did not pick me for the 25-man Champions League squad. But I reckon with my hand to eye coordination, I could be an excellent golfer. I already emailed Nick Faldo declaring my interest in playing the Ryder Cup. I am confident I will be a winner and I know a lot of people will say a lot about how I have never played before, but if you believe you can do something, you will achieve it."
