Gareth Barry, who has had bids turned down by Liverpool for him from his club Aston Villa, has told reporters "he just wants out".
"I watched the Liverpool and Lazio game the other day. I thought to myself that could be on that pitch. I seen the Community Shield and I asked myself "why am I not out there today?". But most of all, why the hell am I stuck at this mid-table club in Birmingham? I don't even like this place. The good Lord came to me last night in a dream and told me to get out. To anybody. So I just want out, people. I know the gaffer won't sell me for anything less than something like £100 million or something silly. But I want out. So, I appeal to my own gaffer and gaffers of every club in the world, please rescue me. And if Mr Schuster is watching, I'd love to sign for Madrid if Ronaldo ain't going. You can pay me £100 a-week. I don't mind. I just want out." Barry told reporters.
